Day 2 Dubrovnik
After breakfast this morning, we head into Dubrovnik - one of the Adriatic's most celebrated historic cities. A local guide will lead us through the Old Town’s narrow streets past honey-colours walls, from the polished limestone of the Stradun, the city’s main promenade that leads to the Rector’s Palace. You’ll take in the city’s grand squares, quiet churches, charming courtyards and views that have remained unchanged for centuries.
From here we’ll visit DEŠA, a women’s cooperative founded in Dubrovnik during the homeland war. What started as a small craft initiative between local women and refugees, has grown into a centre provides victim support while acting as a centre of cultural preservation, keeping skills such as embroidery and lace-making alive.
We’ll stop for lunch in the Old Town before we will take the cable car up to Srd Hill, where the panoramic views stretch out across the city’s terracotta rooftops, the waters of the Adriatic, and on a clear day the Elaphiti Islands.
