Itinerary

Day 1 UK - Haarlem

Today you'll fly to Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. On arrival, we'll transfer you to your hotel in the nearby medieval town of Haarlem, which is at the centre of the Dutch flower-growing district.
After time to settle into your room, why not head into town. As you stroll its cobbled streets and admire its winding waterways you'll see numerous museums, listed monuments and vibrant shopping streets. There's also a great selection of cafés, bars and restaurants when you're in need of refreshment.

Day 2 Keukenhof

A good breakfast will set you up for a full day of exploration, starting with a visit to the incredible gardens of Keukenhof. Located in a centuries-old castle park, the gardens are only open for two months each spring, when the millions of bulbs planted turn into a kaleidoscope of colour. On a morning tour you'll see thousands of stunning flowers – there are 800 varieties of tulip alone – water displays, floral works of art, themed gardens and pavilions packed with magnificent displays.
Your tour continues as we head to Zaanse Schans where we will have a Dutch pancake lunch. Enjoy a starter of soup before tucking into this delicious traditional treat of pancakes served with fresh fruit and a cup of tea or coffee.
Zaanse Schans is a living museum which showcases a collection of historic windmills – a symbol of the Netherlands – as well as historic buildings that have been relocated here and are now museums. Among them are the Weaver's House and the Bakery Museum, with each focussing on a different element of Dutch culture and traditions, giving you a fascinating glimpse of the past.
This evening you might choose to explore Haarlem's historic heart, the Grote Markt. This vast square is lined by historic buildings including the Grote Kerk – a magnificent cathedral dating back to the 14th century. It's also a great place to stop for a bite to eat or a drink.
