Day 1 UK - Puerto de la Cruz

Today you will fly to Tenerife. On arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel in Puerto de la Cruz. ​

Day 2 Tenerife

You will spend today exploring Tenerife's volcanic north. You'll be driven through the dramatic rocky landscape to Icod de Los Vinos, where you'll see an 800-year-old, 18-metre-high Dragon tree. The Dragon tree is native to Tenerife and is one of the island's symbols. Next, you'll explore the pretty town of Garachico, with its cobbled streets, historic buildings and churches. You'll get off the beaten path and visit Masca, a village located high in the mountains, which only became accessible by road in 1991. You'll also take in magnificent views of the island from high up at the El Lance viewing point.

Day 3 La Gomera

You will spend today on the tiny island of La Gomera learning about some of its interesting traditions. You'll start the day with a tour of La Cabezada Dairy, which produces some of the world's finest goat and sheep cheeses. Next, you'll enjoy a hike through the ancient laurel forests of Garajonay National Park. As you are driven around, there will be plenty of time to stop and admire the spectacular views, so be sure to remember your camera! At lunch, you'll be treated to a special experience - a display of Silbo Gomero, the only whistled language in the world, which farmers on La Gomera once used to communicate. In the afternoon you'll visit some more villages and towns including Agulo which is surrounded by banana plantations, and time permitting, San Sebastian. At the end of the day, you'll take the ferry back to Tenerife.​

Day 4 Tenerife - at Leisure

Today is a free day for you to spend on Tenerife. We recommend relaxing on the island's volcanic sand beaches, visiting the botanical gardens in Puerto de la Cruz, or whiling away the hours in a bodega with some Canarian tapas and local wine. Or, join our optional excursion to Mount Teide, the highest peak on the island, which is also an active volcano. You'll have the chance to take a cable car to the summit at 3,555 metres for wonderful views.

Day 5 Gran Canaria

Today you will transfer by ferry to the island of Gran Canaria. This is the most populated and also most diverse of the Canary Islands. You'll spend today exploring the capital city of Las Palmas. You'll discover the laid-back Old Town with its pretty squares and lovely old cathedral. You'll also visit the botanic gardens, home to many of the Canary Islands' interesting plants. There will be plenty of time to browse the shops and cafés before you head to your hotel, which is in the lively resort of Maspalomas and close to many beachfront restaurants and bars.

Day 6 Gran Canaria

Today you'll explore the rest of Gran Canaria, stopping at towns and villages along the way. You'll visit Arucas, a pretty town dominated by a huge church and Teror, a village of red-tiled, whitewashed houses, which is considered to be the loveliest village on the island. You'll have time for shopping and wandering. Lunch will be served in a rustic lodge in the mountains. In the afternoon, you'll continue your tour of Gran Canaria with visits to San Bartolome, a town surrounded by vineyards with a beautiful 17th century church. And at the end of the day, you'll stop to see the Maspalomas dunes, a landscape of shifting sands that has been designated a natural reserve.

Day 7 Gran Canaria - at Leisure

Gran Canaria has a wonderful varied landscape of mountains, forests and volcanoes, so on this free day why not explore the island further on a hike. Alternatively, you could spend a relaxing final day at the beach and enjoy the vibrant restaurants and bars in the resort town of Maspalomas.  ​
Another option, if you prefer, is to join our optional 'Taste of Gran Canaria' excursion, which takes you first of all to a winery for a tasting of both red and white wines. You'll also sample some bread, olives and cheese whilst listening to live folk music. Then you'll head to Guayadeque, a spectacular ravine on the east of the island known for its lush green landscape and cave houses. We'll step inside one of the cave houses to enjoy some typical Canarian food.

Day 8 Gran Canaria - UK

Today you'll transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.

In Puerto de la Cruz in the north of Tenerife, your comfortable hotel is set in an idyllic location overlooking the sea. Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, sun terrace, bar and restaurant.? Rooms have en suite facilities, air-conditioning, TV, wi-fi and a hairdryer.
