With a maximum of 15 to 35 people on nearly all our guided holidays to Europe, you’ll be right at the heart of the adventure when you travel with us. We tailor our group sizes so that they are just right for each itinerary, which means you’ll be in great company, experiencing the very best your destination has to offer. Here are just a few of the amazing experiences you can enjoy on one of our smaller-group holidays.
During a tour of Valletta on our Discover Malta holiday, you’ll visit the Saluting Battery at the Barrakka Gardens. Every day at noon, one of eight replica cannons is fired from here, and with just the right number of people in our group, we’ll be exclusively invited into the area where the cannons are located. We will be the only people there, and after learning about the history of this ritual, we can even help prepare the cannon before it is fired. You may need to cover your ears!
Once a chic Austro-Hungarian seaside resort, Opatija boasts handsome villas and pristine parks. On our Croatia’s Opatija Riviera holiday, you’ll enjoy a walking tour of this charming town followed by a chocolate-making demonstration and tasting. Best of all, with our smaller group, there will be plenty of delicious samples to go around!
Our Discover Romania & Enchanting Transylvania holiday includes a trip to intriguing Bran Castle, sat high on a hilltop surrounded by lush forest. With its rich-red turrets, the former residence of Queen Marie – the last Queen Consort of Romania – is also known as Dracula’s castle. It oozes atmosphere, and to round off our visit we’ll enjoy dinner together in the castle grounds, it’s sure to be a very special experience.
Join our Treasures of Turkey holiday and you’ll enjoy a tour of Göreme Valley, a spectacular landscape sculpted by the power of nature. Amid dramatic rock formations, a network of man-made caves house churches and living quarters. After a busy day exploring, our group is just the right size to enjoy a glass of wine at sunset overlooking the spectacular landscape of Love Valley. An unforgettable experience!
To many people roses are quite simply the most beautiful flowers in the world. However, there is more to these pretty perennials than just their looks. The oil that can be extracted from their petals is highly prized, both as an ingredient in perfumes and for its healing properties. Bulgaria is one of the world’s top producers of rose oil and on our Bulgaria’s Hidden Heritage tour, you’ll visit a distillery and see how it is produced. Our group will even have a chance to sample products including rose water and rose and lavender oil.
