Day 2 San Francisco
We'll explore San Francisco together, on a sightseeing tour which includes Fisherman's Wharf, the sharp hairpin turns of Lombard Street and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Once you have your bearings you can set your own pace this afternoon, perhaps take an optional bay cruise or a thrilling helicopter ride. Then, if you're still raring to go this evening, you can view the city by night on an optional tour.
Day 3 Eureka
Leaving the hills of San Francisco behind, we will journey across the Golden Gate Bridge and head northwards into California's scenic Napa Valley wine region. Later you'll travel on the Avenue of the Giants, a scenic forest drive through towering redwoods.
Day 4 Grant’s Pass
As your journey continues to Oregon today, you're going to get the chance to explore Redwood National Park. The coast redwood is the tallest known plant species in the world, soaring to more than 350 feet tall, and living for an average of 600 years. Before arrival in Grant's Pass, another highlight of today is a visit to a winery for a tasting.
Day 5 Crater Lake
You're in for a scenic treat today as you visit Crater Lake. The area's violent volcanic past has given way to this tranquil, picturesque body of water which is renowned for its deep-blue colour. Surrounded by cliffs, it is America's deepest lake and is fed entirely by rain and snow.
Back at Grant's Pass, you can spend the rest of the day just as you wish.
Day 6 Newport
Today you'll travel to Newport, on the Oregon Coast, a place that seafood lovers will know as the 'Dungeness Crab Capital of the World'. On arrival we'll have lunch at a waterfront restaurant, then afterwards you can watch a crabbing demonstration and enjoy a stroll along Fisherman's Memorial Walk.
Day 7 Newport
Enjoy a free day in Newport to spend as you please. This scenic city is home to two lighthouses, including the tallest in Oregon, and its beaches are a great place to head to look for whales and bald eagles. Be sure to admire the Yaquina Bay Bridge, the city's most iconic landmark, or maybe head to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Here, exhibits range from three ocean habitats connected by a series of tunnels, to a touch pool, where you can enjoy a hands-on experience with anemones and crabs.
Day 8 Portland
We're heading to Portland today. We'll have an orientation tour here with time to explore the lush landscape of the city's huge Washington Park.
Meals included: BDay 9 Seattle
You'll head to Seattle today, but not before the chance to discover the Columbia River Gorge and Hood River. The spot where the Columbia River carves a dramatic canyon between the states of Oregon and Washington offers breathtaking views. We'll also admire Mount Hood, the tallest peak in Oregon and view Mount St Helens. This active volcano, at 40,000 years old, is relatively young and offers a great photo opportunity.
Day 10 Seattle
A day to yourself gives you the opportunity to explore Seattle at your own pace. It's a city surrounded by stunning natural scenery and boasting an impressive skyline, and if you head to Kerry Park, your reward will be sensational views. Another great place to visit is the famous Pike Place Market, and if you want to stop for a coffee, the original branch of Starbucks is right here.
Alternatively, why not join our optional tour, which takes you to the 'Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour'. This is one of Seattle's top attractions, giving you the chance to view 747, 767, 777 and 787 Dreamliners being assembled on the production line. You'll learn many fascinating facts here about Boeing and the planes that bear the aerospace giant's name.
