Itinerary

You’ll depart on your scheduled flight to Hanoi.
You’ll arrive in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, for a three-night stay.
Get to know Hanoi with an included city tour making visits to Hoan Kiem Lake, the Quan Thanh Temple and the Temple of Literature. A walking tour of the Ancient Quarter plus a trishaw ride is also included today. A visit will be made to Ba Dinh Square, where silent sentries guard the marble and granite mausoleum where Ho Chi Minh lies in state. You will also see the simple cottage where Ho lived and worked, as well as the One Pillar pagoda. In the late afternoon, there’s an included Water Puppet show after which Travelsphere customers will have exclusive access to the backstage area.
Today you can enjoy a full-day included tour to Halong Bay, a beautiful spot made famous by the stunning limestone karsts that punctuate the waters of the bay, carved over millions of years by the action of the wind and sea. Local legend has it that the formations were created when a dragon crash-landed in the bay. You will take a four-hour boat cruise, including a seafood lunch, amongst these dramatic limestone peaks rising out of the sea. You will also enter one of the vast caves of gigantic stalactites and stalagmites to see the effect the sea has had on the interior of one of the karsts.
After a mid-morning transfer to the airport you’ll fly to Hue, former capital of Vietnam, where you will stay overnight. Here, you’ll visit the Thien Mu Pagoda in its gorgeous setting overlooking the Perfume River, plus the royal tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh
This morning you’ll visit Hue’s Citadel, seat of royal power in ancient times. Despite war damage, there is still plenty to see, including the Noon Gate, Royal Palace and Flag Platform. A cruise on the Perfume River is also included. You’ll then depart for the beautiful coastal drive to Hoi An, via the city of Danang, where a visit will be made to the Cham Museum, celebrating the artistic glories of the Cham people from the 7th to 15th centuries. Continue to the Marble Mountain and Vietnam East Beach, before arriving in the charming seaport of Hoi An for a three-night stay.
Hoi An is an ancient riverside town and the most enchanting place on the Vietnamese coast. On a morning walking tour, you’ll see the Japanese Covered Bridge, and 200-year-old merchant’s house. In the afternoon, there will be a guided bicycle ride into the countryside.
Enjoy an included excursion to the stunning monuments at My Son, a major religious centre in the Champa Kingdom, which dominated this region from the 7th century to as late as the 19th.
In the afternoon, you’ll depart for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City, better known as Saigon, where you will stay for two nights. It is a city of amazing contrasts. Evidence of former French colonisation still remains, and this, combined with the culture of the predominantly Buddhist population and the booming free-market economy, makes for a memorable visit.
This morning’s included city tour takes in the former Presidential Palace and War Remnants Museum, the famous shopping street formerly known as Rue Catinat, plus Notre Dame Cathedral. In the afternoon, you’ll drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an amazing series of underground passages first constructed in the late 1940s by the peasant army fighting the French, and later extended by the Viet Cong rebels.
You’ll take a fabulous journey into the Mekong Delta today. The River Mekong descends for 3,000 miles from the Tibetan Plateau to the South China Sea, and is constantly busy with sampans, barges and houseboats. You’ll drive first to Cai Be, where you’ll board a boat to cross the wide river, and then cruise along narrow inlets and canals to a lunch stop at a restaurant offering elephant ear fish, visiting workshops along the way. Very little has changed over the centuries in this part of Vietnam, and everything and everybody has to travel by boat. Later you’ll continue by boat to Vinh Long, then to Can Tho for an overnight stay.
You’ll take a morning boat trip to the extraordinary floating market at Cai Rang. In the afternoon you’ll make the return drive to Ho Chi Minh City for a final night.
This morning you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK.
Arrive in the UK.

Please note: This holiday includes
walking in areas of rough ground, gradients and steps.

Travelsphere Cares - Donate a Buffalo

Our Donate a Buffalo scheme means we can give one of these animals which play a vital role in farming, to a local village in Vietnam. We have supported this project since 2011 and to date, with your help, have donated more than 70 of these fantastic creatures - 75 water buffalo and nine cows.

Over the years we have helped numerous families in different villages. Some of the buffaloes have even been named after staff in the Travelsphere office!

Na Chao village is one on the most disadvantaged villages in the Bao La Commune was selected for support from Travelsphere in 2015. Of the 62 household, 23 in the village are considered poor, earning just 75-90 USD per family (of up to 5 people) per month. All of their income is from farming.

The local people of Na Chao village asked if they could use our Travelsphere support fund to buy 9 female cows to be able to support all 23 poor and very poor families (cows are cheaper to buy than Buffalo so they could buy more). They have all signed an agreement to take good care of the cows and can only sell after 2 years. All benefit from sales will be shared among the village. Hopefully some of the cows will give birth and benefit the village further.

Letter of Appreciation:

Dear Travelsphere Company,

My name is Ha Van Thuy - the village leader of Na Chao Village. On behalf of the local people in Na Chao Village, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for your generosity in funding to cow projects. This project is very helpful for disadvantaged families in our village as this will help them to have animals to support on farm work as well as increase their income after two years.

During 2 year time, I will be working closely with these families to make sure they will take a good care of the cow and we will send you a letter to update about the families' life condition and the benefit this project bring to their families.

Once again, thank you very much for your support.

Best regards,

Thuy
