Itinerary

Depart on your flight to Toronto and transfer to Niagara Falls for a two-night stay. Why not venture out to see the falls when they are lit up at night and admire the spectacle of the Winter Festival of Lights (open early Nov to the end of Jan).

The majestic Niagara Falls are one of the greatest sights in the New World and winter brings added beauty to this incredible natural wonder. Spray from the falls blankets nearby trees and lamp posts and then freezes to create glittering sculptures.

This morning you are free to discover the falls at your leisure. Perhaps enjoy the ‘Journey Behind the Falls’ attraction and experience the sights and sounds of Niagara from below and behind.

Join your Tour Manager this afternoon for a visit to the 19th century village of Niagara-on-the-Lake, which looks delightful in the winter. The area is famous for its wines, in particular Icewine, a tipple made from grapes that have frozen naturally on the vine, and then been picked at a temperature of minus 8 degrees centigrade or below. You’ll visit a lakefront winery for a tour and tasting, before returning to the hotel in Niagara Falls.

Before departing Niagara Falls this morning, you could choose to take an optional helicopter ride over the falls for spectacular aerial views.

Your journey continues to Toronto, where we include lunch in the revolving restaurant at the top of the CN Tower. In the afternoon, a sightseeing tour introduces you to the highlights of Canada’s largest city. You’ll see the Parliament building, City Hall and the Rogers Centre – home of the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team – before arriving at your hotel.

Enjoy a day at leisure in Toronto. The city is well prepared for the cold of winter, a 30-kilometre network of underground walkways link the downtown shopping and entertainment districts – so you can explore in comfort.

You could choose to visit St Lawrence Market, said to be one of the best food markets in the world, or discover the Distillery District. This vibrant neighbourhood is packed with art galleries, studios, boutiques and restaurants.

This evening, if the fixtures are in your favour, you could choose to join an optional excursion to watch the city’s ice hockey team – the Toronto Marlies – play.

This morning you’ll head to the resort of Blue Mountain. Built for winter activities, there’s plenty of fun to be had here. Maybe you’ll experience the resort’s thrilling Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster or sit back and enjoy a drink in one of the bars. This evening, we’ll gather as a group and warm up with a drink around an outdoor bonfire.

This morning, admire the scenery as you head out on an included snowshoe tour in the company of a local guide. You’ll enjoy spectacular views and learn all about the area as you follow one of the many trails through this stunning winter wonderland. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

You’ll travel back to Toronto today, calling at the Vaughan Mills shopping centre en route. There’s plenty on offer here, so remember to save some spending money for last-minute shopping. From here you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.

You’ll arrive back in the UK today.
