DAY 1 UK/New Zealand

​Today you'll fly to New Zealand.​

DAY 3 Auckland

You cross the International Dateline during your flight, so you lose day two and arrive in Auckland on the morning of day three. Don't worry, you'll get the day back on the way home!
We'll stay here for the next two nights and the rest of the day is yours to do as you please.​

DAY 4 Auckland

On our tour today you'll experience the stunning landscapes of Auckland, on North Island. Here you'll find thermal springs and geysers, glorious national parks, luxuriant forests, stunning lakes and more.​

DAY 5 Paihia

Travelling up the Hibiscus Coast, we'll visit the historic Treaty House of Waitangi en route to Paihia in the beautiful Bay of Islands.​

DAY 6 Paihia

Spend the day exploring independently, or join an optional excursion to Cape Reinga. You'll travel along Ninety Mile Beach, negotiate the Te Paki Quick Sand Stream, visit a lighthouse and enjoy views of the Pacific meeting the Tasman Sea.​

DAY 7 Paihia

On an optional excursion today you can cruise to Cape Brett to look for dolphins.

DAY 8 Rotorua

North Island was shaped by the fire of volcanoes, and evidence of this remains in the thermal springs surrounding Rotorua. Our journey here takes us through the Waikato farming region, home of the Maori kingdom. We'll spend the next two nights in Roturua and if you wish, you could take an optional float plane or helicopter flight to Mount Tarawera.

DAY 9 Rotorua

Your scenic tour today takes you to Te Puia Thermal Reserve, where you'll see boiling mud pools and dramatic spouting geysers. You can also opt to join a tour of Hobbiton, the location created for the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit films.
Tonight, we'll experience a Maori concert and sample a Hangi, a meal cooked by steam underground.

DAY 10 Wellington

Admire the Huka Falls as we travel through the Wairakei Valley to Lake Taupo and Wellington. On arrival in New Zealand's capital, a tour will help you to get your bearings.​

DAY 11 Wellington

We're going to explore Wellington on foot and see sights such as Te Papa Museum, the waterfront and the botanical gardens. We'll also take a trip on the famous Wellington Funicular.

DAY 12 Christchurch

Today we're going to cross the Cook Strait to South Island and travel to Christchurch for an overnight stay.​

DAY 13 TranzAlpine train

You've a spectacular journey ahead, as we step aboard the TranzAlpine train and head into the Southern Alps. Here you'll see majestic gorges and towering snow-capped peaks. Our journey continues to the Franz Josef and Fox Glacier regions. Later, if the weather conditions are right, you'll have the opportunity to take an optional helicopter flight over the glacier.​

DAY 14 Queenstown

The road through the Westland National Park has to be one of the most scenic ever built. It crosses Clark Bluff and the Haast River Bridge and today we'll drive along it on our way to Queenstown.​

DAY 15 Queenstown

During your day of leisure discover the city at your own pace. If you wish you could enjoy a relaxing cruise on Lake Wakatipu with dinner at Walter Peak.​

DAY 16 Te Anau

Today is the day you visit one of the most beautiful locations in New Zealand – Milford Sound. Weather permitting, we'll take in the fjord's majesty on a boat trip.​

DAY 17 Dunedin

With their eerie light, the Glow Worm Caves are an amazing sight, and you'll see them before we head to Dunedin for a two-night stay.​

DAY 18 Dunedin

Spend time exploring at leisure today, or join an optional trip to the Royal Albatross Colony on the Otago Peninsula.​

DAY 19 Omarama

As we travel northwards to Omarama, we'll make a stop at the Moeraki beach boulders, huge spherical rocks shrouded in myth and legend. Our route then follows the Waitiki River inland.​

DAY 20 Christchurch

We're bound for the Mount Cook region this morning. On the way we'll make a stop at Lake Tekapo before heading over Burkes Pass and continuing across the Canterbury plains. Mount Cook is the highest peak in New Zealand, at 12,000ft, and if weather conditions are favourable you might be tempted to view it on an optional scenic flight. We'll arrive in Christchurch late this afternoon and stay in the city overnight.​

DAY 21 Christchurch/UK

We'll transfer you to the airport for your flight to the UK. You'll cross the International Dateline again, meaning you gain back the time lost at the start of your tour.​

DAY 22 UK

This contemporary hotel is located in the heart of downtown Auckland and situated on the city's main shopping street and is two blocks away from the SKYCITY entertainment complex and is a km away from various museums and galleries. Day 5 - 7 :

Day 17 - 18 :

Mercure Dunedin Leisure Lodge
Nestled by the Dunedin Botanical Gardens and University of Otago, the 4-star Mercure Leisure Lodge is situated within easy walking distance of the city centre and the Forsyth Barr Stadium at the site that was formally the McGavin Brewery. Back in 1882, it was arguably the largest brewery in New Zealand, with brewing or bottling operations continuing on the site until 1976, when the majority of the buildings were demolished. It wasn’t until August 1978 that, what was then known as the Leisure Lodge Motor Inn, was opened for business. Designed by Warren & Mahoney of Christchurch, some of the stonework from the original brewery buildings was used in the foyer and the aptly named McGavin Room. Whilst the rooms and parts of the building have changed over the years, offering all the modern comforts you would expect, you can still explore the grounds and visit the Oast House, which survives from the brewery days (it was used as a malting kiln) and now serves as a function room. Afterwards, you can raise your glass in the McGavin’s Bar & Restaurant as you settle in for the night at your place in Dunedin. All 76 spacious rooms feature en suite facilities and are all well-appointed with a range of features and all with either a balcony or outside patio area.

Here is your chance to explore the beautiful Bay of Islands further, with a four hour cruise on a large catamaran. You will have the chance of seeing Bottle Nose dolphins NZ fur seals plus lots of bird life. We cruise out to Cape Brett the famous “Hole in the rock” and if the sea conditions permit the boat will venture through the hole. On our return journey we will have a beautiful island stop before making our way back to Paihia. Lunch is included.

You will be transported to the Hobbiton Movie set tour which is a visitor experience based at the original location where Hobbiton was created for the filming of the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit films. It offers an interesting and entertaining experience incorporating the famous film set and a special insight into rural life. Your tour starts with a drive through the picturesque 1.250 acre sheep farm with its spectacular views across to the Kaimai Ranges. Your guide will escort you through the ten acre site recounting fascinating details of how the Hobbiton Movie Set was created.
Hobbit holes, The Green Dragon Inn, The Mill and other structures can be viewed and you will see how this beautiful piece of Waikato farmland was transformed into The Shire from Middle Earth. Specially brewed beverages are available at The Green Dragon Inn as you complete your tour.

A return scenic cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm onboard the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw. On disembarking at Walter Peak, guests are welcomed and escorted through the lakeside gardens to the Colonel’s Homestead where they are seated for dinner. Our colonial homestead features a stately ballroom and finely appointed rooms each featuring a roaring open fire to evoke a cosy atmosphere on colder evenings. The Gourmet BBQ menu, designed by Kiwi Celebrity Chef Josh Emett, incorporates the fresh seasonal produce and locally hunted game and seafood so famous in the Central Otago region and surrounding coastal areas. Rarotonga – the main island in the Cook Islands and the island with the international airport. Home to 12,000 of the 18,000 Cook Islands call Rarotonga home.

Just 32Km or 20 miles in circumference with only one continuous road, nothing on Rarotonga is more than 20 minutes away

Clockwise / Anticlockwise – where else in the World are there two buses an hour, timetabled to go around the island, one clockwise one anti-clockwise. No need for bus stops – just flag the driver down whenever you see the bus coming!

Fancy a swim – with 20km or 14 miles of uninterrupted public beach, lay your towel wherever you want and take a dip in the lagoon surrounding the island.

Work up a bit of sweat – why not trek across the island. The untouched volcanic interior, can be explored by foot – a morning trekking followed by a refreshing dip under a waterfall, is a must for many visitors

Trekking not for you – other options include 4x4, Quad bikes and cycle tours enable you to see day to day life in Rarotonga.

Have a Whale of a time – visit between July and September and you can see the Hump Back Whales close to shore. No need for boats, simply sit on the beach and watch the whales beyond the reef.

Island Night – proud of their Cook Islands and Polynesian heritage, enjoy an island night, with traditional Umu (underground Oven) feast and Cook Island dancers.

Punanganui Market – meet all the new friends you have met during your stay at the Saturday morning market in town.
