Travelsphere Sails Through the Panama Canal and Explores Hawaii in 2017
Travelsphere, the UK’s pioneering escorted tours company, is introducing some fantastic new tours for its 2017 season, including transiting the Panama Canal, island hopping in Hawaii and Greece, and soaking up the sun in Tenerife.
Cruising the Panama Canal is an 18-day adventure which begins with an overnight stay in the Spanish-influenced city of San Diego. The cruise sets sail the following day as the guests board the MV Westerdam and head to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico.
On the way to the Panama Canal, one of the world’s greatest feats of engineering, the ship calls at ports in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
At each port call there is a full programme of excursions which allows an insight into these fascinating coastal cities, including the opportunity to visit the stone ruins of Tikal in Guatemala, once home to the Mayans and dating back to 600 BC.
Once through the 48-mile Panama Canal and its six locks, there are port calls at Cartagena, Colombia and Half Moon Cay, Bahamas. Cruising the Panama Canal is priced at £2,999 per person.
“At Travelsphere we have seen a growing demand for a combination of cruising and escorted touring, hence the addition of our Panama Canal cruise and Hawaiian cruise, to the land and sea tour holidays that we already have on offer,” said Christina Hunter-Locke, Travelsphere’s Head of Product.
“Closer to home, Travelsphere has some fantastic tours of Tenerife, Mykonos, Athens and a range of river cruises where you can watch the great sights of Europe drift by from the comfort of your sophisticated river cruiser,” added Christina.
