Experience the Canadian Rockies with Travelsphere
Glaciers, canyons, Banff National Park and Lake Louise are all highlights of Travelsphere’s brand new tour of the Canadian Rockies, part of the latest brochure launch from the UK’s global escorted tour operator.
Canadian Rockies with Rocky Mountaineer is a ten-day journey from Calgary to Vancouver which features a two-day trip on the Rocky Mountaineer train. Banff is the first call on this tour, nested high in the Rockies and surrounded on all sides by the towering beauty of Banff National Park.
After Banff, the tour heads on to Lake Louise, often referred to the most beautiful place in Canada, the next two days are spent in Jasper which is reached via the Icefields Parkway, sitting at 7,000 feet above sea level.
Boarding the Rocky Mountaineer gives time to relax and take in the dramatic scenery of the Continental Divide and the river valleys of the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains. The train follows the Fraser River, home of British Colombia’s largest salmon fishing run, here grizzly bears can be seen trying to pluck the fish from the river.
“If your idea of a perfect holiday is enjoying some serious natural wonders, then a trip through the Canadian Rockies takes some beating. Travelsphere’s newest tour takes in so many awe-inspiring experiences from Lake Louise to Banff National Park and the Icefields Parkway to Maligne Canyon,” said Stuart Perry, Travelsphere’s Destination Expert.
“Travelsphere’s latest brochures are packed with some of our most popular tours, such as Top to Toe of Italy, one of our 26 unique Italian tours, and Epic Wonders of the National Parks, where you tick of eight national parks in seven US states. We have also added brand-new tours in Canada, France and Crete,” added Stuart.
Battlefields of France and Flanders is a fitting way to remember the fallen soldiers of the First World War. 2018 marks the centenary of the end of the First World War and Travelsphere’s poignant four-day tour includes the battlefields where so many lives were lost. Highlights of the tour are visits to The Somme and Vimy Ridge, Flanders Field Museum, Tyne Cot Cemetery and the Last Post Ceremony which takes place at 8.00pm every evening at the Menin Gate in the town of Ypres.
Battlefields of France and Flanders costs from £499 per person and includes rail travel from London St Pancras with Eurostar and three nights’ hotel accommodation.
For those interested in flora and fauna, Travelsphere has launched Wildflowers of Crete, an eight day tour discovering the many species of wildflowers and exploring the spectacular scenery of the idyllic Greek island of Crete. On the 3rd April 2018, there is a special departure of this tour where Travelsphere guests can go orchid hunting as this is the best time of the year to catch these amazing flowers in bloom.
Each group will be accompanied by a Tour Lecturer such as Andreas Foundoulis, a native Cretan who has always lived on the island. Andreas studied botany and has great knowledge of the wild flowers of the island. He has escorted many groups on local nature walks, and has worked with Travelsphere for almost 20 years.
Wildflowers of Crete has prices starting from £1,059 per person, with savings of up to £150 per couple on selected short-haul holidays booked before 12th June 2017.
