Accommodation

You will stay in good quality hotels throughout the tour such as the Hospitality Suites in Scottsdale, the Radisson Woodlands Hotel in Flagstaff and the Holiday Inn Express in Kanab. There is a restaurant and/or bar in all locations and often extra facilities, such as swimming pool and shop. In Las Vegas you will stay at the Stratosphere Hotel, which has its own cabaret, a choice of great restaurants including the ‘Top of the World’ restaurant 800ft above the Strip, bars and shops. All bedrooms feature private facilities, air-conditioning where appropriate, TV and telephone.

Itinerary

DAY 1
Depart on your scheduled flight to Phoenix, Arizona and transfer to the nearby resort of Scottsdale for a two night stay.

DAY 2
Join our included city tour highlighting the main sights, such as Arizona’s Territorial Capitol Museum, the Bank One Ballpark and the Heard Museum. Afternoon at leisure. In the evening enjoy an optional steak supper.

DAY 3
We travel through some of the finest scenery in Western America to Montezuma’s Castle, a remarkable 1,000 year-old Indian dwelling carved out of a rocky hillside. We continue to the fashionable artists’ township of Sedona where you will have the opportunity to take an optional Jeep tour before driving through spectacular Oak Creek Canyon to the former wild west town of Flagstaff, on Route 66, for a two night stay.

DAY 4
Depart for your included full day excursion to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, one of the greatest natural wonders of the world, with staggering depths, strange rock formations and brilliant colours. You can enjoy a thrilling helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon.

DAY 5
We drive through the Painted Desert and the Navajo Indian Reservation on the way to Page on beautiful Lake Powell. You’ll have the opportunity to take a boat trip on the lake before continuing to Kanab for a two night stay.

DAY 6
Today we tour one of America’s most remarkable National Parks – Bryce Canyon an immense natural amphitheatre of cream and pink-tinted pinnacles, pillars and delicate spires.

DAY 7
We visit the unique sheer cliffs, deep chasms, bizarre rock shapes and diverse wildlife in Zion National Park including Zion Canyon, Three Patriarchs and Virgin River Narrows. We continue to the gambling and entertainment capital of Las Vegas in the Nevada Desert for a two night stay.

DAY 8
Enjoy an included short sightseeing tour of Las Vegas followed by free time to explore at your own pace. Join our optional tour of Las Vegas by night to see the city’s famous Strip, with its casinos and hotels, in all its illuminated glory.

DAY 9
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.

DAY 10
Arrival in the UK.

On this holiday, if you can’t fly direct from your local airport, you have the choice of taking a regional connecting flight to Heathrow or Gatwick with British Airways or bmi from as little as £35 per person return.

On many occasions where you are using regional connecting flights to London, you will be able to check your luggage through to your final destination, so there’s no need to collect or check your luggage in twice.
