Accommodation

In Edmonton, your hotel will be the Courtyard by Marriott. Located in the heart of downtown Edmonton, the Courtyard offers an excellent riverside restaurant. All rooms feature private facilities, TV, telephone and coffee making facilities.

In Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff, you will stay in excellent four star Fairmont hotels – Jasper Park Lodge, Chateau Lake Louise and Banff Springs. The Jasper Park Lodge a charming complex of chalets and cabins. Chateau Lake Louise is set on the banks of the lake and offers unparalleled views, and the Banff Springs Hotel, built in the style of a Scottish castle, are both spectacular buildings, constructed during the early 20th century. All three hotels have excellent restaurants, spa and health club, and all offer a genuine welcome and excellent service. Guest rooms all feature TV, coffee making facilities and hairdryer.

Itinerary

DAY 1 - Edmonton
Depart on your scheduled flight to Edmonton. On arrival transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. Edmonton, the capital of Alberta, is a charming city with a great balance of sophisticated and exciting events, engaging attractions and friendly ease.

DAY 2 - Jasper National Park
Leave Edmonton behind today as you take the scenic drive to Jasper, a former railroad town situated in the heart of the breathtakingly beautiful Jasper National Park. It’s an ideal starting point for your winter Rockies adventure. En route from Edmonton to Jasper, you will get your first sight of the magnificent Rocky Mountains. In Jasper you will enjoy a two night stay at the historic Jasper Park Lodge, with a short orientation tour of the town and surrounding area included this afternoon.

DAY 3 - Maligne Canyon
Enjoy a day at leisure and make the most of the superb hotel facilities or join our optional excursions - a walk through the beautiful Maligne Canyon to explore the frozen waterfalls and ice caves. This is one of the most spectacular gorges in the Canadian Rockies, where the walls tower some 150ft above the canyon floor.

DAY 4 - Jasper
You will leave Jasper behind today as you head to the incomparable Lake Louise for an overnight stay at the luxurious Chateau Lake Louise. Enjoy an incredibly scenic journey en route. You will see Athabasca Falls, the Colombia Ice Field and Bow Glacier. Many writers have described Lake Louise as the most beautiful place in Canada – a glacial, jade-green lake, high in the mountains and surrounded on all sides by towering, snow-capped peaks. The views from the hotel across the lake and of the mountains encompassing the lake are absolutely breathtaking; you will feel dwarfed by their majesty and presence.

DAY 5 - Lake Louise
Today you have the opportunity to go dog sledding (weather permitting), before you take the stunning drive through the mountains from Lake Louise to Banff. You will stay in Banff for two nights, at the iconic Banff Springs Hotel.

DAY 6 - Banff National Park
The attractive town of Banff is situated in the heart of the Banff National Park. Gaze in awe at mighty snow-capped peaks, crystal clear lakes and sparkling streams; drive through rugged canyons with crashing waterfalls; and marvel at a vast wilderness of huge pine forests where black and grizzly bears still roam free. Indeed, in Banff itself it is not unusual to spot wildlife in the main street! Today we include a sightseeing tour around the town and the surrounding area, taking you to Surprise Corner, the Hoodoos and the Bow River. There is also the option to take a helicopter flight over the Rockies for breathtaking views.

DAY 7 - Calgary/UK
Transfer to Calgary airport for your return flight to the UK.

DAY 8 - UK
Arrive in the UK.
