Our man in Prague: day four

3rd Nov 2011 by Travelsphere

Our website developer Steve Brewster's Travelsphere holiday in the Czech Republic comes to an end. What did he think of his experience?

Prague-London

There were no excursions planned for today so we had a lie-in before joining the rest of the group for a final breakfast.

Check-out was at around noon so we stored our luggage at the hotel and went for a last walk around town, stopping for lunch and to pick up some last-minute souvenirs.

Back at the hotel, we still had a few hours before boarding the coach to the airport so we decided to enjoy a farewell drink in the hotel lounge with a few other members of our group.

I'm really beginning to think that I might be cursed when it comes to airport security. Once again the metal detector beeped and I was searched, even though all of my items were going through the scanner. I think the only security risk was to myself, as without my belt my trousers were in serious danger of falling down.

Despite a strong head wind and enough turbulence to make us think we were on a ferry crossing in rough weather, our flight landed back in Stansted around 9pm UK time, a full 20 minutes ahead of schedule. We passed through security easily and quickly thanks to our electronically-chipped passports and were soon in the car and on our way home.

It has been an amazing few days. I have met some lovely people and seen a beautiful city and culture, and I would very much like to come back one day.

Finally, I would like to say a huge thank you to Jana, whose passion, humour and outgoing personality made our holiday into an experience I will remember fondly for many years to come. Like many of our group, I sincerely hope to see you again on a future tour. Děkuji - thank you.
