Main cruises
Germany is a country with more than its fair share of beautiful waterways, and the Main is another that offers delightful views at every turn. Its 329-mile length zig-zags across central Germany, past an ever-changing landscape of forests, pretty towns and castles.
Its largest city is Frankfurt am Main, Germany's financial centre and a thriving metropolis. Wrzburg in northern Bavaria, on the other hand, is a much more old-fashioned place, offering a more laid-back pace of life and many charming buildings. What makes it so interesting is that many of these are careful copies, as most of the town and its heritage was destroyed by British bombers during World War II.
The Main flows into the Rhine at Mainz, to the west, while at its eastern end the Main is connected to the Danube by canal, creating an unbroken channel from the North Sea to the Black Sea.
Relax and enjoy a first-class Main river cruise experience aboard the MS Serenade 1. Built to the highest standards of safety and design, the MS Serenade 1 has something for everyone. Whether it's a quiet drink in the panoramic bar watching the sunset, a stroll on deck or a delicious afternoon tea, you'll feel wonderfully pampered and right at home.
