Indian Ocean cruises
The exotic Indian Ocean was a key route for sailing ships serving the old spice trade between Europe and Asia and its warm waters, studded with paradise islands such as Mauritius and the Seychelles, lap against the shores of three great continents.
To the west lies Africa, including the white beaches of Kenya, South Africa's magnificent Garden Route, and the spectacular wildlife of Tanzania.
To the north, the ocean flows around southern India, a region known for Kerala's white beaches, unique houseboats and health and beauty treatments. Neighbouring Sri Lanka is another natural paradise, and a visit to the Pinnawela elephant sanctuary will never be forgotten.
To the east, Indonesia offers the remarkable temples of Borobudur and the orangutans of Borneo. Australia's west coast is less well known than its Pacific stretch but every bit as laid-back, and Perth has its own special charm.
