Ukraine, still a relatively undiscovered jewel, boasts beautiful landscapes and a fascinating history. The scenery around Yalta, the country’s premier resort, is second to none, while the capital, Kiev, is steeped in history. With included visits to impressive palaces, the lovely Nikitskiy Botanical Gardens and wine tasting at Massandra, this unique holiday is definitely one to remember.

You will spend five nights in Yalta in the Crimea, famous for its association with the Crimean War, the Charge of the Light Brigade, Florence Nightingale and the Battle of Balaklava. The region also boasts glorious scenery. Then it’s on to Kiev for a two night stay, and a chance to discover the delights of this fascinating city.

Accommodation

In Yalta you will stay in the medium grade Hotel Yalta, on the outskirts of the town. Amenities include restaurants, bars, lift and currency exchange. All bedrooms have private facilities, telephone and TV.

In Kiev you will stay in the centrally situated Hotel Rus. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, lift, currency exchange and shop. All bedrooms have private facilities, TV, telephone, air-conditioning and safe.

 

Itinerary

Day 1
Depart on your scheduled flight to Simferopol via Kiev. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Yalta for a five night stay.

Day 2
Today we include a sightseeing tour of Yalta. In the afternoon, we visit Vorontsov Palace in Alupka.

DAY 3
Day at leisure or an optional tour to the naval base of Sebastopol and the remains of the ancient city of Chersonesus. After an included lunch you will visit the Panorama Museum and the Valley of Death.

Day 4
Enjoy a day at leisure or join our optional half day excursion to Livadia Palace. On this excursion we include lunch at the Swallow’s Nest Restaurant. Afternoon free to explore Yalta.

Day 5
Enjoy a day at leisure or join our optional afternoon visit to the small town of Bakhchisaray and the Tatas Khan’s Palace. Enjoy an included dinner at a local restaurant this evening.

Day 6
Enjoy an included wine tasting at Massandra before a visit to the Nikitskiy Botanical Gardens. Dinner at a local restaurant is included this evening before transferring to the airport for your flight to Kiev. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a two night stay.

Day 7
Included morning tour of Kiev’s old town. After an included lunch at a local restaurant we continue to Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Monastery.

Day 8
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.

If you can’t fly direct to your destination from your local airport, usually you will have the choice of taking a regional connecting flight to Heathrow or Gatwick from as little as £69 per person return. Transfers

Transfer time from the airport to your hotel on day 1 is approx 2 hours mins, returning back to the airport on day 8 will take approx 45 mins.
