Accommodation

Your accommodation while in Oberammergau will either be in Oberammergau itself or a nearby village. All accommodation will be of a good standard. Depending on your departure date, your accommodation in the Salzkammergut will either be in the Strand Hotel in Weyregg, the Hotel Zimmerbrau in St. Wolfgang or Hotel Alpenblick in Attersee.

Itinerary

DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Munich. Upon arrival, transfer to the Bavarian village of Oberammergau for a two night stay. Dinner tonight will be in a local restaurant.

DAY 2 - This morning you are free to explore the village, maybe visit the Oberammergau Museum (entrance included). After an included lunch, you’ll sit down to enjoy the Passion Play, which will continue into the evening. A break is made for a three-course included dinner.

DAY 3 - After breakfast, you’ll leave Oberammergau and head to the Austrian Lake District, Salzkammergut, where you’ll stay for the next five nights. On the way, you’ll stop in the pretty mountain resort of Kitzbühel. Dinner this evening will be in your hotel.

DAYS 4 TO 7 - Free to relax and enjoy your surroundings or take part in our range of optional excursions:

Hallstatt & Bad Ischl
A three-quarter day visiting the lovely lakeside village of Hallstatt and the spa town of Bad Ischl.

Passau & the River Danube
A full day excursion to Passau, which lies at the confluence of the Inn, Ilz and Danube rivers and boasts an impressive cathedral and baroque churches. After a walking tour, we also include a cruise on the River Danube which visits the impressive loop in the river known as the Schlögener Schlinge.

Salzburg
A full day tour to the Sound of Music city, dominated by the magnificent Hohensalzburg Fortress. Explore the old centre and discover Mozart’s Square, the magnificent Dom (cathedral) and the splendid Mirabell Gardens.

Southern Bohemia
A superb full day trip crossing the River Danube into the Czech Republic to visit the lovely old town of Cesky Krumlov.

DAY 8 - Transfer to Munich airport for your return flight to the UK.
