During your stay in Hyannis you will stay in the Cape Cod Resort or similar. All rooms feature private facilities, TV and telephone. In the Lincoln area you will stay in hotels such as Woodwards Inn, where amenities include a lounge and restaurant. All rooms feature private facilities, TV and telephone.

Hotels will be confirmed in your final documents.

Itinerary

Day 1: Boston

Depart on your scheduled flight to Boston. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Hyannis, Cape Cod, for a four-night stay.

Day 2: Plimouth Plantation and Mayflower II

Today you will travel to the historic town of Plymouth, where pilgrims first landed in 1620. The town holds a prominent place in America’s history and is often referred to as the ‘hometown’ of America. Take an included tour of the fascinating Plimoth Plantation an authentic recreation of a pilgrim village as it would have been in the early 1600s. It is also the home to Mayflower II, a replica of the ship that carried the pilgrims across the Atlantic.

Day 3: Cape Cod

Today there is an optional excursion to the island of Martha’s Vineyard, south of Cape Cod. The island is popular holiday resort well-known for its beaches, coastal walking and cycling paths as well as an abundance of pretty towns. You will take the ferry to Oak Bluffs, with its ‘Gingerbread Cottages’ and also visit the picturesque former whaling port of Edgartown.

Day 4: Cape Cod

Today you are free to enjoy the charms of this uniquely beautiful town. There may also be an opportunity to take an optional whale watching cruise. You may see Humpback, Minke, and Fin whales as well as a pod of dolphins.

Day 5: Boston

Today you head to Boston, where you will enjoy an included city tour. The tour begins in Back Bay, where you will see Copley Square’s striking architecture including the Trinity Church. Continue past the Public Garden, catch a glimpse of the “Cheers Bar” and the elegant Beacon Hill. Follow parts of the freedom trail and see the old south meeting house where the tea party began. The Faneuil Hall Marketplace complex is a delight to explore. We pause for a seafood lunch (not included) at historic Quincy Market which is part of the complex. This afternoon you will continue to Lincoln. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a four-night stay.

Day 6: White Mountains

Enjoy a full-day included tour of the breathtaking White Mountains. The White Mountains are arguably New England’s greatest outdoor attraction. Within White Mountain National Forest visitors participate in all manner of outdoor activities from hiking to skiing. Today you will have the chance to gain an insight into this wonderful area. We will travel through Franconia Notch State Park on our way to Cannon Mountain, where you will have the opportunity to ride the aerial tramway (additional charge), and then on to Crawford Notch State Park for fantastic views of Mount Washington. Continue to the town of Conway, before returning to Lincoln along the incredibly scenic Kancamagus Highway.

Day 7: Vermont

Today take the optional excursion to the state of Vermont, with its verdant, mountainous scenery. The state of Vermont has many more trees than people and is known throughout the country as the ‘Green Mountainous State’. Today we plan to stop at the Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks to learn how maple trees are tapped for their sap which is then used to produce beautiful, golden maple syrup. Continue to Montpelier, the smallest state capital, then on to Stowe before returning to Lincoln.

Day 8: Lincoln

Today you are free to enjoy the delightful town of Lincoln. There are plenty of places that you can enjoy a leisurely stroll or perhaps pick up some locally made souvenirs.

Day 9: Boston

Travel back to Boston, where you may have free time for shopping before transferring to the airport for your flight home.

Day 10: UK

Arrive back in the UK.
