Walking in the Ahr Valley

You will stay in the 3-star Hotel Zum Weissen Kreuz, centrally situated in Altenahr. Run by the Hoppe family, the hotel has a bar, restaurant and lift. All bedrooms are comfortably furnished with private facilities and some have a balcony. The friendly staff and wonderful food will ensure your stay is a memorable one.

Day 1: UK/Altenahr

Local departure and an afternoon crossing to Calais. Evening arrival in Altenahr for a four night stay.

Days 2 - 4: Altenahr

Free to relax and enjoy the following included walks:

Introduction to Altenahr

Walk into the hills around the resort and enjoy the views on the way. If you are keen for more, take a stroll around the picturesque Langfigtal Nature Reserve just outside the town (approx. 2 hours’ walk).

Red Wine Trail

We follow the scenic trails through the Ahr Valley directly from your hotel. After a guided morning walk we meet the coach and continue to the pretty, walled town of Ahrweiler (approx. 3 hours’ walk). Explore or relax in Ahrweiler before a return coach transfer back to your hotel.

Eifel Explorer

We enjoy a walk in the Eifel Hills, followed by a visit to the charming medieval town of Bad Münstereifel, returning to your hotel via the giant radio-telescope (approx. 2 hours’ walk).

Music & Wine Evenings

On one evening there will be live music in the hotel and on another an included wine tasting.

Day 5: Altenahr/UK

Depart after breakfast for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK and continue to your original departure point in the evening.
