The Black Forest

You will stay in the family-run 3-star Hotel Ochsen in the village of Kehl-Kork. It’s a welcoming place and the bar is popular with the locals as well as hotel guests. There is a party atmosphere in the cellar bar with a happy hour and bingo night arranged. Additional facilities include a restaurant, lounge, TV room and lift. All bedrooms feature private facilities, TV and hairdryer.

Overnight hotels en route will typically be comfortable 2-star standard, conveniently situated for your onward travel to your final destination.

Day 1: UK/Northern France

Local departure and an afternoon crossing to Calais. Continue to your overnight stop in northern France on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Black Forest

Drive to Metz with time for a stroll around the historic centre, before continuing to the Black Forest area of Germany for a three night stay.

Black Forest Tour

Join our scenic full day tour, visiting Donaueschingen, the source of the River Danube, from where you will travel to Offenburg by train on the spectacular Schwarzwaldbahn, one of the most scenic railway lines in Europe. There will be plenty of free time for you to discover Offenburg which is surrounded by vineyards and has a beautiful baroque city centre.

Lake Titisee & Staufen

A full day excursion visiting beautiful Lake Titisee, the largest lake in the area and a popular resort where you can enjoy a stroll along the shore. Continue to Staufen, a lovely old town surrounded by vineyards, with cobbled streets and medieval houses. There will also be time to visit delightful Freiburg, one of Germany’s most attractive towns with its impressive Gothic cathedral and quaint shopping streets.

Day 5: Black Forest/UK

Depart after breakfast for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK and return to your original departure point in the evening.
