Your river cruiser - MV Serenade I
The MV Serenade I is chartered exclusively for Travelsphere's sister company, Page & Moy. On each cruise aboard this fourstar cruiser you will be accompanied by two Page & Moy cruise representatives.
The first-class on-board accommodation features the luxury of spacious cabins and bathrooms with both a shower and separate bath, which is unusual for a river cruiser. You can spend your time watching the stunning views unfold from the panoramic windows of the lounge, savour delicious cuisine in the elegant dining room and sit back and relax with a range of evening entertainment.

Itinerary
Day 1: UK/Cologne
Depart 22:30
Your cruise begins in vibrant Cologne, where the MV Serenade I is moored. You can choose to fly to Düsseldorf, or take the Eurostar from St. Pancras to Brussels, with an onward transfer to Cologne.

Day 2: Cochem
Arrive 13:00 – Depart 22:00
You’ll spend this afternoon in picturesque Cochem. Enjoy a stroll amongst the halftimbered houses or along the riverside promenade. High above the town is the mighty Reichsburg Castle, one of the most famous on the Moselle, which offers stunning views across the surrounding countryside and down to the river. Why not take a closer look on our optional tour. You sail overnight to Bernkastel.

Day 3: Bernkastel/Zell
Enjoy this morning exploring Bernkastel, an attractive wine town full of colour-washed houses topped by steep gabled roofs. Alternatively, you might choose to join our optional excursion to the ancient Roman town of Trier. Here you can see the many legacies of Trier’s history as the region’s Roman capital, including the fortified gates of Porta Nigra, the cathedral and the atmospheric ruins of the amphitheatre.
MV Serenade I sets sails for Zell this afternoon, stopping briefly in this lovely wine town before continuing towards Rüdesheim.

Day 4: Rüdesheim
Arrive 14:30 – Depart 06:00
Experience one of the scenic highlights of your cruise today as you pass through the magnificent Rhine Gorge, past vine-clad slopes and striking castles. You arrive in Rüdesheim early this afternoon where you will have free time to explore this lively town, set in one of the finest winemaking regions in Germany. Why not join our optional excursion to the unique and entertaining Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Museum.

Day 5: Mainz & Boppard
The historic university town of Mainz is your destination this morning. You can get to know the town on an optional walking tour and visit the museum which celebrates the life of Johann Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press, who was born here. Your cruise continues towards Boppard at lunchtime, arriving late afternoon. This charming town sits right in the heart of the Rhine Gorge, on the banks of one of the river’s largest loops. Enjoy time ashore this evening.

Day 6: Boppard & Koblenz
Arrive 14:30 – Depart 03:00
Enjoy a free morning in Boppard to explore further, or join our optional walking tour. After lunch we set sail for Koblenz, one of Germany’s oldest cities. The beautifully restored old town centre, the Altstadt, is renowned for its pretty, winding streets, romantic little squares, grand mansions and ancient churches. Above the city is the impressive Ehrenbreitstein Castle, one of the largest in the world.

Day 7: Cologne
Arrive 08:00
You arrive in Cologne at breakfast time. An optional walking tour will introduce you to the city’s highlights, and includes a visit to the magnificent cathedral that dominates the skyline. Alternatively, you can spend time at leisure exploring at your own pace.

Day 8: Cologne/UK
Your journey along the Rhine comes to an end this morning with the transfer to either Düsseldorf or Brussels for your return journey home to the UK.
