Lake Annecy & Chamonix by train

Hotel Mandallaz 3 star or similar. This comfortable hotel in the town of Annecy offers a bar, breakfast area and lift. Guest rooms are comfortably furnished and all have private facilities, TV and telephone. Hotels will be confirmed in your final documents.

Day 1: UK/Annecy

Board Eurostar in either St Pancras or Ebbsfleet this morning and travel to Lille. In Lille you will change to a French TGV high speed train for the southward journey to Lyon. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery as the TGV cruises effortlessly at speeds of up to 186mph. From Lyon you will travel by ‘ordinary’ train via Aix-les-Bains towards the Alps and Annecy.

Days 2 - 4: Annecy

One of the most charming and attractive towns in the Rhone, Annecy is built on a maze of canals. With its cobbled streets and stone bridges the traffic-free old town is lined with cafes and restaurants, whilst cruises on Lake Annecy offer great views of the Alps overlooking the town.

Chamonix & Mont Blanc (full day)

This full day tour takes you by train to the mountain grandeur of Chamonix, with its superb location under the awe-inspiring gaze of Europe’s highest mountain, Mont Blanc. Also included today is a memorable trip on the tramway to the spectacular Mer de Glace glacier, literally a ‘sea of ice’.

Lake Geneva & Yvoire by coach (full day)

A superb full day excursion by coach to the picturesque walled town of Yvoire, which is situated on the banks of French Lake Geneva. We will enjoy a boat trip across the lake to the Swiss city of Geneva.

Day 5: Annecy/UK

Transfer to the railway station this morning for your return journey to the UK, following the same pattern as your outward trip.
