Bruges & Lille Weekend: from Dover

You will stay in a comfortable 2 star hotel such as the Ibis Lille Centre Gares, Ibis Lille Roubaix Centre or Ibis Lille Lomme Centre, all conveniently located for our excursion programme. All rooms have private facilities, telephone and TV. Please note that the hotels do not have lifts. Hotels will be confirmed in your final documents.

Day 1: UK/Lille

Local departure and an afternoon crossing from Dover to Calais. Selected dates will be on Eurotunnel. Arrival at your hotel for a three night stay.

Day 2: Lille

The French city of Lille boasts some spectacular architecture, much of it Flemish, from the days of Belgian rule. Head to Vieux Lille, the historic quarter that has been lovingly restored, and spend a little time wandering around its narrow, cobbled streets lined with lovely shops as well as open-air bars and restaurants.

You are free to relax and explore the delights of Lille, or why not join our optional three-quarter day excursion to Ghent, one of Belgium’s oldest cities, with its elegant medieval architecture, network of canals and cobbled streets.

Day 3: Bruges

Join our full day included excursion to the capital city of West Flanders, Bruges. The delightful old centre has an abundance of attractions from the traditional gabled houses and majestic churches to narrow cobbled streets and charming canals; not forgetting the world famous lace, chocolates, beer and of course chips with mayonnaise!

You will have plenty of time to explore this beautiful city on foot, by boat through the network of canals or even on a horse and carriage ride through the cobbled streets. Alternatively, you can relax and soak up the atmosphere in one of the many bars and cafés or visit one of the cosy tap-rooms to sample the famous Belgian beer.

Day 4: Lille/UK

We stop in Lille centre with time for shopping and sightseeing before a late afternoon crossing/Eurotunnel back to the UK. Return to your original departure point in the evening.
