Austrian Lake District

Set amongst wonderful alpine scenery, Salzburg is dominated by the magnificent Hohensalzburg Fortress which can be reached either by foot or funicular. The centre has hardly changed since Mozart’s time; baroque domed churches, merchant houses and hidden arcaded courtyards. Visit Mozart’s Square situated in the heart of the city, the Dom (cathedral) and the splendid Mirabell Gardens. If shopping is your passion, then a stroll along the narrow Getreidegasse is a must.

To us though, Vienna is the capital of elegance and style, with the magnificent St. Stephen’s Cathedral as the focal point. Highlights include sights such as the Schönbrunn Palace, Opera House, Hofburg Palace and Musikverein.

A superb full day trip crossing the River Danube into the Czech Republic to visit the lovely old town of Cesky Krumlov. Sat on the banks of the River Vltava, the magnificent medieval town of Cesky Krumlov boasts narrow winding streets. It is no wonder that it’s been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perhaps pay a visit to the historic State Castle and Chateau of Cesky Krumlov, perched up on the cliffs above the river.
