Itinerary
Day 1: UK/Naples
Transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to Naples. Upon arrival in Naples, you will transfer to your hotel in Minori for a 6 night stay.
Days 2 - 6: Minori
The next 5 days are yours to enjoy entirely at your own leisure. Included in your holiday are excursions to Amalfi & Ravello, and to Pompeii. There are also two optional excursions for you to experience if you should wish to do so.
Meals: Breakfast / dinner
Amalfi & Ravello
A three-quarter day tour to the picturesque town of Amalfi, beautifully poised between the mountains and sea, and dominated by its impressive marble Renaissance cathedral, at the top of steps that start in the town square. It is said that the cathedral holds the remains of St. Andrew. Continue to the historic cliff-top town of Ravello, renowned for its stunning position. Here you’ll find the wonderful gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, and an impressive cathedral, along with magnificent views of the coastline.
Pompeii
A half day excursion to this famous Roman town, frozen in time by the eruption of the nearby volcano Vesuvius in 79AD. What remains is a fascinating collection of ruins and a remarkable insight into the last days of this doomed city. Wander around the ancient streets, pitted and marked by years of carriages making their way around the city. You will be astounded by the sheer size and scale of the ruins, as well as the quality and abundance of frescos painted on the walls. Visit bakeries with their bread ovens and flour grinders still intact, and stand in the centre of the arena, once able to hold 20,000 people (includes guide).
Sorrento (optional excursion)
A full day visit to popular Sorrento, set above the Bay of Naples. This lively resort is one of Italy’s most famous holiday destinations, and has long been a favourite haunt of the rich and famous. The town offers some truly stunning scenery, along with a variety of shops, restaurants and pavement cafés. Wander around the side streets, where you’ll find charming little shops selling souvenirs, hand-made sandals, and bottles of limoncello, the locally produced lemon liqueur.
Capri (optional excusrion)
A full day excursion by ferry to the pretty island of Capri, a favourite of the international jet set from the 1950’s to the present day. From the picturesque port of Marina Grande you’ll visit the attractive village of Anacapri, set on the hill, the wonderfully laid-out Gardens of Caesar Augustus, and see the distinctive Faraglioni rocks, which rise majestically from the deep blue waters, and more. Why not do some window shopping in the exclusive boutiques of Capri village, or take the chair lift from Anacapri to the highest point on the island for spectacular views across to the mainland?
Day 7: Naples/UK
Today you will transfer from your hotel in Minori to the airport in Naples for your return flight to the UK. You will arrive in the UK later the same day.
