Lake Maggiore

You will stay in the traditional family run 3-star lakeside Hotel Europalace in Pallanza. The comfortably furnished bedrooms all have telephone, satellite TV and private facilities. Hotel amenities include a bar, restaurant, small TV lounge area and a lift.

Overnight hotels en route will typically be comfortable 2-star standard, conveniently situated for your onward travel to your final destination.

Day 1: UK/Namur

Local departure and an afternoon crossing to Calais. Continue to your overnight stop in Belgium on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Germany

Continue to Germany where we enjoy an overnight stop.

Day 3: Pallanza

We drive south across the Italian border to Pallanza on Lake Maggiore for our seven night stay.

Days 4 - 9: Pallanza

Free to relax and enjoy our optional excursion programme.

Lake Maggiore & the Borromean Islands

A 3/4 day tour to see Maggiore’s scenic beauty, with a private boat trip to the Borromean Islands. Including a guided tour inside Borromeo Palace.

Zermatt

A full day tour over the border into Switzerland to this fabulous resort, overlooked by the mighty Matterhorn.

Lake Orta & Omegna Market

A 3/4 day tour to perhaps the most idyllic of the Italian lakes, Lake Orta, where we include a visit to the traditional outdoor market at Omegna.

Macugnaga

A half-day trip to the Anzasca Valley and the picturesque Alpine resort of Macugnaga, a popular winter sport destination. The town breathes new life in the summer months, with spectacular views of nearby Mount Rosa making this a picture perfect location where you will be happy to while away a few hours. It is also a popular mountaineering destination which creates a constant flow of life through the streets of this sparsely populated town.

Centovalli

A full day excursion featuring a scenic railway journey (approx. 90 mins) through the fascinating ‘hundred valleys’ to Locarno with a relaxing ferry ride back across the lake to Pallanza.

Day 10: Northern France

Time to leave Italy and head back through Switzerland to northern France for a final overnight stay on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 11: Northern France/UK

Continue to Calais for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK, returning to your original departure point in the evening.
