This holiday is for those who would prefer a longer and more elaborate tour of China, perhaps following an earlier introductory visit. In addition to Beijing and the Terracotta Army in Xian, we have included the former capital of Nanjing, the garden city of Suzhou and mighty Shanghai.

The attractive and lively city of Harbin, situated in deepest Manchuria in North-East China, is home every winter to a spectacular festival of ice and snow carvings. Many are created with coloured lights inside the ice, so that at night the whole park is an enchanting wonderland of colour and artistry. In three large parks, wondrous collections of carvings are on display. The sculptures depict world-famous buildings, monuments, animals, legendary characters, pagodas and more.
