NEW YEAR’S EVE
This morning we include a city and temples tour, visiting some of Bangkok’s most unusual Buddhist temples. Pay a visit to Wat Po, with its colossal reclining Buddha and Wat Benjamaborpit, the white marble temple. Your afternoon will be at leisure to relax before our New Year’s Eve gala dinner at the hotel tonight.
NEW YEAR’S DAY
This morning we include a full day excursion through the countryside north of Bangkok to Ayutthaya, the former capital of Siam where only a few spectacular ruins remain. You will return to Bangkok by boat, cruising down the Chao Phaya River enjoying the scenery and an included lunch.
JANUARY 2ND
Included this morning is a sightseeing tour of Bangkok visiting the famous temples of the Golden Buddha and The Grand Palace, one of the most beautiful examples of any ancient Siamese Court, where the kings of Bangkok resided. Here you will see palaces for all different occasions and the exquisite Emerald Buddha temple. During the evening there will be a special Thai dinner, with a performance of traditional dancing included. During dinner, exquisitely costumed dancers will elegantly re-enact stories from classical Thai literature and folktales.
JANUARY 3RD
Today you are at leisure to discover more of this vibrant city for yourself. This evening, enjoy a moonlit dinner cruise on the ‘River of Kings’ through the heart of Bangkok.
JANUARY 4TH
Leaving Bangkok behind, we head to Kanchanaburi on the river Kwai for a two night stay, visiting the up-country floating market at Damnern Saduak and the Phra Pathom Chedi in Nakorn Pathom en route. You will have lunch at the famous ‘Bridge over the River Kwai’ and visit the well-kept cemetery, an emotional part of the tour.
JANUARY 5TH
You are free in Kanchanaburi today to make your own discoveries.
JANUARY 6TH
Leaving the evocative scenery of the River Kwai behind, today you head to the attractive Rose Garden Resort outside Bangkok for a two night stay. Here many aspects of Thai culture are on display, including Thai boxing, folk dancing, working elephants and monks’ ordination ceremonies.
JANUARY 7TH
Enjoy a day at leisure in the elegant surroundings of the Rose Garden Resort.
JANUARY 8TH
Head to the beach resort of Cha am today, stopping en route at Phetchaburi, the provincial capital, visiting the Khao Wang Palace and enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. You then head to Wat Yai Suwannaram, Wat Mahathat and Ramarajanives, the Palace of Cannons, before arriving in Cha am for a 12 night stay.
JANUARY 9TH TO 13TH
Cha am is a popular beach resort where life is enjoyed at a much more leisurely pace. It is located on a quiet unspoilt sandy beach, 20 minutes from Hua Hin. Spend your time here relaxing beside the swimming pool, or on the beach. A range of optional excursions will be available in resort. On your final night in Cha am, enjoy a farewell drink followed by a barbecue dinner at the hotel.

Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
