DAY 1 - UK/NEPAL
Depart on your scheduled flight to Kathmandu.
DAY 2 - KATHMANDU
Arrival in Kathmandu where you will be met by your Tour Manager and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. Nepal lies in the Himalayan Mountains between India and Tibet. The scenery is breathtaking, from the highest point on earth, Mount Everest, to the fertile jungle lowland. A vibrant mix of religion and culture characterises the allure of Nepal and, in particular, its capital Kathmandu.
DAY 3 - KATHMANDU
This morning, we include a sightseeing tour of the city featuring visits to the ancient Palace of the Kings of Nepal, the Temple of the Living Goddess, the 2,000 year-old Stupa of Swayambhunath, and Durbar Square. Afternoon flight to Pokhara for an included tour of the Pokhara Valley. The combination of snow-clad peaks, snow-fed lakes and rivers has helped to make the Pokhara Valley one of the most picturesque natural attractions in the world. Three nights’ accommodation at your hotel.
DAY 4 - POKHARA
It is here you will start your fantastic walking itinerary to discover the impressive scenery for which Nepal is famed. On your walks you will be treated to magnificent views, including the Annapurna Mountain range. Begin your walking programme with a walk into the Pumdi and bhumdi area (approx. 7 hours’ walk).
DAY 5 - POKHARA
Morning departure for your walk to begnas Lake, with sightseeing along the way (approx. 7 hours’ walk).
DAY 6 - DHULIKHEL
Morning return flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to Dhulikhel for a two night stay. A stop will be made en route at bhaktapur, city of devotees. Dhulikhel offers stunning views over the Himalayas and charming villages. Many of the houses in this area have beautifully carved wooden structures around their doors and windows.
DAY 7 - DHULIKEL
Your walking trail to Panauti will take you through forests, small rural villages and then to Panauti Temple (approx. 8 hours’ walk).
DAY 8 - NAGARKOT
Transfer to Nagarkot, one of the most scenic areas in the Kathmandu Valley with excellent views of the snowcapped peaks of the Himalayas including, on a clear day, Mount Everest. A gentle walk will take you through the countryside to Changunarayan where you can see one of the oldest pagoda-style temples in Nepal (approx. 3 hours’ walk). Afternoon transfer back to Kathmandu for two nights’ accommodation.
DAY 9 - KHOKNA
Transfer to Khokna, on the outskirts of Kathmandu, for a walk around bungamti, a charming town where time seems to have stood still (approx. 3 hours’ walk).
DAY 10 - NEPAL/UK
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK, arriving later the same day.
