The magnificent fortresses and medieval walls, which face out onto the open sea, characterise the great history of this marvellous port. A walking tour of the wonderfully preserved old town with its maze of ramparts, narrow streets, hidden squares, museums and churches will include the impressive cathedral and a stroll along the famous Stradun (promenade) to the Rector’s Palace and the Franciscan Monastery. A drive along the picturesque Boka Kotorska bay concludes this memorable day.
Classic Montenegro - Get to know the country’s turbulent history, unforgettable natural sights and contrasts. Rich in maritime tradition, you will visit the navy museum, cathedral and St. Nicholas church in the old town of Kotor, followed by a scenic drive with panoramic views of Kotorska bay. We stop at the oldest restaurant in Montenegro in the tiny village of Bukovica to taste the famous prsut (smoked ham) and home made Njeguski cheese washed down with a glass of local honey wine. Continue to Cetinje, Montenegro’s old royal capital, for a visit to King’s Nikola’s Palace.
Albania - Enjoy a unique opportunity to explore one of Europe’s ‘lost’ countries. Home to a rich blend of religions and cultures, its origins are still shrouded in mystery. Our escorted tour includes Pecurice, Sukobin and Shkodra for free time, before enjoying the scenic panorama of Ulcinj.
Skadar Lake - Beautiful Skadar, famous for its flora and fauna, is the biggest lake on the Balkan Peninsula and a UNESCO Heritage Site. Enjoy a cruise on the lake around the picturesque islands and bays, followed by an aperitif on board before going ashore for a freshly caught fish lunch at a beach restaurant. There will be time for sunbathing and a swim before the return boat trip and drive back to the hotel.
Sveti Stefan (half day) - This former island fishing village has been transformed into Montenegro’s most exclusive resort and is linked to the mainland by a permanent causeway. Enjoy a stroll around the houses with their original 15th century facades, refurbished inside to the height of hotel luxury fit for their film star guests.
